Cat Deeley, co-host of ITV's daytime show This Morning, has responded to the intense criticism she's received over her role and the programme's viewing figures. The popular show saw its estimated audience drop to less than 700,000 for a recent episode, but Cat remains unfazed by questions about the show's popularity, stating: "I haven't really thought about it,".

Alongside Ben Shephard, Cat is now the face of This Morning, following in the footsteps of iconic screen duos Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, and Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.

The show was embroiled in controversy following the departure of Phillip Schofield, who left in May 2023 after more than two decades on the show.

His co-host Holly Willoughby also exited This Morning a few months later. Claims of a "toxic culture" have plagued the show, with former guests including Kerry Katona and Kim Woodburn criticising the hosts' interviewing style.
