This is the horror moment caravans were swept away in mass flooding at a holiday park in Argyll and Bute. Footage shows the three static caravans being uprooted at Stratheck Holiday Park in Dunoon, after nearby Loch Eck broke its banks on Saturday night.

Biblical downpours have caused chaos across the country, forcing road closures and train cancellations. The holiday homes could be seen crashing into each other as they were swept away by the rising water.

Three caravans were lost to the flood water and another 20 have been damaged due to the extreme weather over the weekend. The holiday park is between Benmore and Loch Eck and is situated just off the A815, where multiple people had to be rescued after a landslide.

Stratheck Park Manager Andrea Duncan said: "Stratheck and Loch Eck Country Lodges are now completely off-limits to anyone other than select team members who are trying to assess the damage."We appreciate that some may be tempted to come and see the effects of the weather on the park and speak to the park team - but please ensure that you do not make this journey."The phone line, electricity and water have temporarily been disconnected from the park and caravans/lodges are being pulled back from the water's edge where possible."The team has been working throughout the night and day to ensure the safety of everyone at the park.
