Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is the 45th and current president of the United States. Before entering politics, he was a businessman and television personality. Trump was born and raised in the New York City borough of Queens, and received a bachelor's degree in economics from the Wharton School. He took charge of his family's real-estate business in 1971, renamed it The Trump Organization, and expanded its operations from Queens and Brooklyn into Manhattan.

The company built or renovated skyscrapers, hotels, casinos, and golf courses. Trump later started various side ventures, mostly by licensing his name. He owned the Miss Universe and Miss USA beauty pageants from 1996 to 2015, and produced and hosted The Apprentice, a reality television show, from 2003 to 2015. Forbes estimates his net worth to be $3.1 billion.

Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. (born November 20, 1942) is an American politician who served as the 47th vice president of the United States from 2009 to 2017 and represented Delaware in the U.S. Senate from 1973 to 2009. A member of the Democratic Party, Biden is the presumptive Democratic nominee for president in the 2020 election. He unsuccessfully sought the Democratic presidential nomination in 1988 and in 2008.

Donald Trump has just been found guilty on 34 counts in his hush money trial in New York City, leading many to wonder if he can still run for President of the United States.

The 77-year-old former President currently is campaigning to be the Republican nominee for the upcoming 2024 Presidential election, running against Democratic presumptive nominee Joe Biden. Keep reading to find out more… The answer is yes: Trump can still run, even if convicted of all 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. The US Constitution lays out just three requirements for presidential candidates: you must be a natural born citizen, at least 35 years old, and have been a U.S.

resident for at least 14 years. He meets all the requirements. There is, arguably, another rule laid out in the 14th Amendment, where it states that no one who has previously taken an oath of office who engages in insurrection can be an officer of the United States.

But the Supreme Court ruled earlier in 2024 that Congress would have to pass a special law invoking this prohibition, via CNN.
