Bury Council blasted for not addressing failings leaving families ‘dismayed’
manchestereveningnews.co.ukBury Council has been blasted by an ombudsman for not rectifying failings when ordered to do so. The local government and social care ombudsman said it had been ‘compelled to highlight’ two cases where the council has not acted to put things right in good time.
They added it had taken the ‘threat of publicly highlighting these failures’ for the Labour led council to take more urgent action.
The ombudsman said Bury Council has taken too long to carry out their recommendations in two separate education complaints, leading them to publish reports on both cases.
