Britain’s Got Talent act, and winner of the very first semi-final, Innocent Masuku revealed to the judges that he got married in-between his audition and live semi-final performance. The powerhouse opera singer took to the stage on Monday 27 May and gave an incredible performance where he received a standing ovation from all four judges as well as a huge amount of praise.
When Innocent finished singing, Ant and Dec went to the judges for comments when Alesha Dixon said: “How do I sum it up? You’re the one to beat.” Amanda Holden added: “What’s amazing is how slight you are and I never see you take a breath then you do those notes that last forever.
I think Alesha’s right, you’re the one to beat tonight.” Simon said: “We felt how much this means to you”, and he went on to say: “You deserve this opportunity because you are incredibly talented.” Viewers were equally impressed by Innocent and took to social media to express how they felt.
One wrote: “He is amazing!” Another added: “This opera singer WOW #BritainsGotTalent." But the biggest news came from Innocent later on when Dec said: "Since we saw you last, you’re married now." Innocent replied "yes I am" as the camera panned to his new wife who jumped up and down, thrilled to have been watching him from the audience.
