Ex-Celtic and Motherwell kid leads East Kilbride summer rebuild

East Kilbride have secured a summer signing treble this week after boss Mick Kennedy strengthened his squad for another crack at promotion from the Lowland League next season.Kilby have added former Celtic and Motherwell youth Broque Watson after agreeing a deal with Lowland League rivals Tranent, which will see Kilby winger Adam McGowan go in the opposite direction.Watson, 25, still had a year left on his contract at Tranent and scored seven times in 34 league appearances for the club last season, providing two assists.Kilby fans will certainly remember him after he scored twice in Tranent’s thumping 7-0 win in the Scottish Cup second round last October.Ex-Motherwell midfielder Jack Leitch and former Hibs kid Jordan McGregor have also signed up for the coming season, having both left Stirling Albion at the end of their contracts.

The Binos were relegated to League Two last month.Leitch, 28, is the son of former Motherwell captain Scott, and also played for Airdrie, before joining Peterhead for three years, and Stirling for the last four.McGregor, 27, came through the ranks at Easter Road and had spells at Hamilton Accies and Airdrie, before joining Aberdeen reserves and moving on to Stirling Albion, where he had been for the last five years.It is Kennedy’s first piece of business this summer and he is thrilled to get the trio on board.He said: “We are delighted to get them over the line.“Broque came in and signed for us on Saturday and he will be a great addition.“We fought off a lot of competition to get these players, particularly for Jack from League One and League Two clubs.“But other clubs were in for the other boys as well so we’ve done well to get them all in.“Jack has got a good personal relationship with Si
