Brave identical twins save 15-year-old from drowning at Ayrshire beach

Hero twin brothers who saved a teenage girl from drowning in the sea at Ayr beach have been commended for their bravery.Jonathon Eastson and Christopher Easton, both 22, leapt the rescue of a 15-year-old who got into difficulty in the water in July 2021.The pair have now been commended by Scotland's top cop, Chief Constable Iain Livingstone as part of Police Scotland's Bravery and Excellence awards, which were held at Tulliallan.

The Ayr identical siblings were playing football on the Low Green on the evening of July 9, 2021, when they spotted the girl had walking into the water before disappearing around 150 yards away from the shore.The brothers both raced into the sea and hauled the teen who was unconscious and unresponsive at the time to the safety of shallow water, where they were joined by friends who helped remove her fully from the water.

The girl was then treated by medics and has since made a full recovery.At the awards the brothers were praised, with the summary of their award stating: "The brave and courageous actions of both men undoubtedly assisted in saving the females life."
