Boy, 17, charged over alleged fight near Piccadilly
manchestereveningnews.co.ukA boy of 17 has been charged after an alleged fight outside Piccadilly railway station. Officers were scrambled and London Road was cordoned off on Tuesday afternoon as cops responded to a 'fight between two males'.
One was taken to hospital with a hand injury. Police were called at around 1.20pm, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said. The force said an arrested suspect sustained a hand injury and was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.
A spokesman for the force has now confirmed a boy, aged 17, has been charged with two public order offences; one count of affray; one count of section 18 wounding; and another charge of possession of a bladed article, He is due to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court tomorrow (June 29).
The teenager cannot be named for legal reasons. A police investigation is continuing and any witnesses or anyone with footage or information is urged to contact us quoting log 1914 of 27/06/23.
