‘Professional’ robbery gang armed with red-bladed axe jailed after stealing over £250,000 from cash in transit guards

A violent robbery gang targeted cash in transit drivers armed with a red-bladed axe. In total, the group stole over a quarter of a million pounds in the attacks.

Paul Dunn, 34, Liam McCloy, 35, and Nathan Kennedy, 42, targeted various guards as they were depositing the cash, and each time would hit them to the head with the weapon.

Prosecuting, Joe Allman said the group were organised, with the men wearing balaclavas or face coverings, gloves and dark clothing to avoid detection.
