Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg seem to be moving forward in their proposed cage fight, and the Tesla CEO even suggested that they hold the fight at the Colosseum in Rome, Italy.
There have been reports that the Italian government has offered up the historical site for the fight, but the Italian Ministry of Culture has denied them all and released a statement on the matter. Keep reading to find out more… “Some chance fight happens in Colosseum,” Elon first suggested in a tweet on Friday morning (June 30).
Then, TMZ reported that the Italian government actually made the offer – but the Ministry of Culture says otherwise. While Italy isn’t saying no to the tech titans, they aren’t saying yes and offering up the architectural wonder either.
In a statement from Minister Gennaro Sangiuliano, via the Corriere della Sera newspaper, they state that if Elon and Mark wanted to have it at the Colosseum, they need to have a charity component to it, and it has to be a “non-violent challenge.” Here’s the full statement, translated from Italian: “There has been no formal contact nor any written document by the ministry, even if the news appears tasty it is unfounded.
