Body discovered in river search for woman who vanished three days ago

A body has been found after a large-scale search for a woman who was reported missing from her home at the weekend. Angharad, from in Carmarthenshire in Wales, was reported missing on Sunday, November 26.

A search of the River Cothi in the Pontargothi and Nantgaredig areas was launched and a body was sadly found this afternoon.Emergency crews, including fire crews, police officers and mountain rescue teams have been present at the scene since Sunday, with a police helicopter also deployed.The search focused on a section of the River Cothi north of the A40 in Pontargoghi on Tuesday, and further searches resumed in the area this morning, November 29.Police confirmed formal identification of the body has yet to take place but Angharad's family has been informed. A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "We can confirm that a body has been found this afternoon, Wednesday, November 29, during the search for Angharad, who had been reported missing.
