Blantyre woman fighting cervical cancer aims to raise £2000 for the Beatson charity and St Andrew’s Hospice

A Blantyre woman diagnosed with cervical cancer is aiming to raise £2000 for two charities.Karen Alexis Muir found out she had stage 2B cervical cancer on August 23 of last year.The 48-year-old completed her chemo/radio/brachytherapy just days before Christmas at Gartnavel and is waiting for her three-month MRI results.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

I thought it was menopause. I never saw any of it coming. I’m an ex-midwife so you would think that I would've noticed.“It has been a big surprise for everyone around me because I am such a bubbly person, not knowing that I had been fighting it for a couple of years.“The Beatson have been amazing.
