BBC Breakfast was pulled off air on Monday morning after it was hit with technical issues. Presenters Jon Kay and Sally Nugent were presenting the show and appeared completely unaware of the blunder. The broadcasters were about to hand over to hear the local headlines when the programme was forced off screens due to a sound issue.

BBC Breakfast went to cut to STV studios in Glasgow when viewers were unable to hear presenter Graham Stewart. In an attempt to salvage the situation, BBC bosses cut the coverage and replaced it with a message on screen.

It read: "We are sorry for the break in this programme and we are trying to correct the fault."Back in the Manchester studio, both Jon and Sally appeared to be unaware of the broadcast issue.

It comes as the breakfast show has been bombarded with complaints from frustrated viewers recently after experiencing similar technical issues. Those tuning in blasted the show over what they described as a "dreadful" blunder after another sound issue when presenters cut across to Kilkenny in Ireland where they spoke to father and his son Stevie, who had a great talent for singing.
