Balmaghie Kirk played host to a successful and happy pet service. It was led by the Reverend John Murdoch and the kirk was packed with assorted animals and their proud owners.
Lesley Sanderson and her brilliant wind band provided the music, lessons were read by Emma Sanderson, Kiera Schultz and Charlie Rodger who all found it quite a challenge to make themselves heard above the accompanying chorus of barks, whinnies, miaows and howls.
Sadly the expected tortoises arrived too late for the event but everyone else had a wonderful time. Afterwards, delicious cakes were served in the kirk hall and all the congregation went home with a packet of bone shaped biscuits.
Huge thanks to everyone who made this event such a success. £250 was raised for local cat and dog charities and the kirk. It was such a success that the minister is now going to hold a similar event at Southwick Kirk on Sunday, August 4 at 10am.
