Armed police stormed a Stockport petrol station following reports of a person carrying a 'gun'. Officers attended Esso on the A6 Buxton Road, in Heaviley, at around 6pm on Monday (August 19).
Eyewitnesses reported seeing armed police at the petrol station during the evening. Greater Manchester Police confirmed it was responding to reports of someone potentially possessing an imitation firearm in a public place.

A member of Esso staff confirmed the incident took place at the petrol station, near the junction with Countess Street. Information can be passed on to GMP by calling 101 or reporting it online.
