The redevelopment of town centres is a key theme of planning applications across Greater Manchester this week. Gorton and Altrincham have both been eyed up for titivation following the submission of planning papers.
In Gorton, the market could soon be welcoming a new public realm alongside a ‘wildlife zone’ and much more, if plans are approved.
The changes would centre around a ‘vibrant and multi-functional community space’ that would be the focal point of the project, according to the proposal. Changes to the Albert, Chapel and Lloyds Courts project would see 88 new properties proposed as opposed to 104 previously touted.
