Airdrie captain Adam Frizzell felt his side were going to sink Ross County in 90 minutes after their Viaplay Cup dream ended in a dramatic extra-time exit.The Diamonds were 3-1 down at half-time against the Premiership side, but mounted a superb second half comeback when Calum Gallagher's 82nd minute penalty and Josh O'Connor's 89th minute strike left the Staggies stunned.Momentum was with the Championship hosts but they couldn't find a fourth, and Malky Mackay's men eventually got the job done when Eamonn Brophy's 101st minute header earned a 4-3 win in extra-time.Gutted Frizzell said: "I think we gave a good account of ourselves."We were a wee bit shell-shocked at the start of the game after going 2-0 down, but once we settled I felt, for large periods, we were the better team on the ball."The way we were playing in the second half, I thought we were going to nick it in the 90 minutes.

We missed a couple of chances and it just wasn't to be."On the day, we've fallen just short because of some cheap goals on our behalf."They are a good team and we've maybe given them that wee yard of space that we don't get punished for in our league."I thought we didn't quite get going again in extra-time.

Their goal in extra-time kind of woke us up again - and it shouldn't really take something like that to do it."I thought we battered them for the last 10 minutes but they defended well and saw the game out."if we can get three points in the league next week, we'll be back on track.
