Airdrie boss Rhys McCabe insists his side "weren't at the races" despite their 2-1 Championship win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle, and warned that captain Adam Frizzell must learn from the red card that could have cost his side three points. And McCabe says the former Killie midfielder apologised to his team-mates after the valuable win.Gabby McGill forced an own-goal from Cameron Harper after 33 seconds and Calum Gallagher doubled that lead in 32 minutes, with Nathan Shaw pulling a goal back for the visitors after Frizzell’s second booking 20 minutes earlier saw him sent off.McCabe said: “We had to dig deep for the win.“If I’m brutally honest I think we maybe did enough to win the game, in the first half we looked a real threat and took our goals really well.“The overall performance was poor, but we’ve got to look to the positives and we’ve come away with the result.“It’s another learning curve for Adam Frizzell, who ultimately could have cost his team-mates there, boys were fighting through the pain barrier and it’s testament to their fitness.“But it could have been the opposite way about so Frizz will have to look at that, and he’s in there apologising to his team-mates.“Calum Gallagher is flying, but we weren’t at the races today, in terms of what we asked.“We did look a threat any time we went forward and cut them open with combination plays, and with our quality but we didn’t do that often enough."I'll sleep tonight, because we got three points, but I'll be tossing and turning because there will be so many things that I'll want to nit-pick."Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onTwitter via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
