TV personality Ben Bryant was left fighting for life in hospital after a devastating chip pan fire at his home.The 60 Minute Makeover star is understood to have lost all his belongings in the blaze which engulfed his flat in Gravesend, Kent.
The 35-year-old DIY expert spent just over a week in hospital after the blaze on Monday, October 2, the Mirror reports.Ben was rescued after his hero neighbours spotted smoke coming from his ground-floor flat and swiftly raised the alarm with the emergency services.
Hailing their efforts, Ben’s mum, Sarah, who lives in Orpington, told Kent Online: “If they hadn't done that I wouldn't have had a son to visit this weekend.”Doctors battled to clear the ITV star’s lungs of soot which he inhaled during the fire.
He remembers putting chips on before falling asleep. He was later found lying on the floor. Sarah, 57, added: “There was loads of it in his lungs.
