ok.co.ukVienna Blood is returning to BBC Two and iPlayer with series four and will see Matthew Beard and Juergen Maurer reprise their roles as crime-fighting duo Doctor Max Liebermann and Detective Inspector Oskar Rheinhardt.
Based on the bestselling Liebermann novels by Frank Tallis, the drama is filmed on location in Vienna but season four will be a little different as it will follow one case spanning two episodes that will "push Max and Oskar to limits never seen before".
In the new season, Matthew's character Max returns from a successful lecture tour in New York where he has been spreading Freudianism very successfully.
He's got a promotion and now the Director of the Neurology department. Speaking about what he's learnt as an an actor while working on Vienna Blood, Matthew said: "I've matured with the character I think and learned a lot.
