Y’all are the first [crowd] we’re playing this song for.”Lenker also told fans that she’s started using in-ear monitors, explaining: “I wanna be able to play music and hear the guitar and stuff for the next, like, 50 years.”It comes after the indie-folk band debuted even more new material at Oregon’s Project Pabst and revealed their new line-up following the departure of founding member and bassist Max Oleartchik.They had previously taken to Instagram to say the separation marked “the end of an era, and the beginning of a new one for Big Thief”.“This change was made for interpersonal reasons with mutual respect in our hearts,” they continued. “It’s a big change for us and the four of us ask for your trust, respect, and care as we grow into the next chapter of our lives.”Watch Big Thief debut ‘Taker’ below.Last month (July 28), they headlined the Portland festival with the new line-up, marking the group’s first show in over a year.
