Netflix is never short on true crime documentaries, from shows about homicides in New York to childhood abuse at disciplinary schools.
Its latest offering revisits the case of Jennifer Pan in Ontario, Canada. In November 2010, the unassuming city of Markham was shaken when intruders entered the home 24-year-old Jennifer shared with her parents.
The men shot both her parents, killing her mother Bich Ha Pan and leaving her father Huei Hann Pan in a coma. A traumatised Jennifer survived and was able to call the police as the horrific tragedy unfolded - despite claiming she was tied to the top of a bannister. But, as it transpired, Jennifer had been behind the twisted plot all along. Police soon learned Jennifer's parents never approved of her drug-dealing boyfriend Daniel Wong, who she had an on-off relationship with.
