‘Van Helsing’ Series In The Works At CBS From Jonathan Lee, Rob Doherty, Carl Beverly & Sarah Timberman
deadline.comEXCLUSIVE: Van Helsing is turning crime fighter in a new series in development at CBS. Jonathan Lee, the author behind Netflix and the BBC’s upcoming drama series Lockerbie, is writing the eponymous series, which is in the works at the Paramount-owned broadcaster.
It is believed to have landed at CBS after a hotly contested auction. Elementary creator Rob Doherty is exec producing the project alongside Carl Beverly and Sarah Timberman under their deal with Lionsgate Television, which is the studio.
The series is a contemporary take on the monster hunter Dr. Abraham Van Helsing, who uses his uniquely inquisitive mind working alongside his ex, relentless FBI special agent Mina Harker, to solve New York City’s most harrowing cases, per the logline.
Van Helsing is the latest procedural project in the works at CBS, which Deadline revealed earlier this week was developing another adaptation of German detective drama series Einstein.
