Tributes have poured in following the death of former Manchester Evening News chief sportswriter and Manchester City star, Paul Hince.

Paul, who was born in the city in 1945, played for his beloved Citizens from 1966 to 1968, scoring four goals in 11 appearances.

He was also a title-winner, winning the First Division crown in the 1967/68 campaign under Joe Mercer’s leadership. He was retrospectively awarded his medal in October 2021.

After City, Paul played for Charlton, Bury, Crewe, and Macclesfield. Then, he made his transition from football pitch to press box and had a hugely successful career at the M.E.N.
