A fit and active triathlete was given a devastating diagnosis after he started suffering from painful headaches. Kieran Shingler first experienced the headaches on Bonfire Night last year, the Liverpool Echo reports The 23-year-old, from Warrington, tried taking paracetamol and Sudafed but his symptoms continued.

After just a week-and-a-half, doctors told him to go to A&E as the headaches had gotten worse, making him feel tired and nauseous.

He underwent tests and was diagnosed with high grade cancerous brain tumour. He is currently having a four week break and will start his second cycle of chemotherapy at the start of April in tablet form, which he can take at home.
