A ward clerk in recovery from coronavirus was applauded by her colleagues as she left the critical care unit at a hospital in Stockport.

The touching moment was captured in a video filmed at Stepping Hill Hospital. The footage shows Jeanette Prunty, who has worked as a ward clerk at the hospital for over 11 years, being discharged from ICU.

Her colleagues can be seen cheering and clapping for her as she is moved into the hospital's new high acuity care area. Stockport NHS Foundation Trust said staff were 'overjoyed' to see their friend Jeanette 'on the road to recovery'.
