Thousands of superfans fly in to East Kilbride Comic Con

EK, East Kilbride was awash with superheroes and supervillains at the weekend as the BGCP EK Comic Con swept into the town centre.Thousands of superfans, many dressed as their favourite superhero and fantasy characters, descended on the centre for the biggest ever event of its kind in EK.Queues of excited fans stretched around the mall in anticipation of the arrival of stars including Transformers, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, Sonic the Hedgehog and Pikachu, Shrek, Iron Man, and of course, everyone’s favourite webslinger, Spider-Man.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Thousands of fans came down to see their favourite characters and EK’s retailers also got in on the fun with many offering their own superhero promotions.”Other attractions included Han Solo encased in carbonite, the Bat signal and Thanos’s throne from The Avengers movies.

Arcade machines and modern gaming consoles also featured along with ‘make your own slime’ and ‘make your own superhero mask’
