The average cost of a home is continuing to rise across Greater Manchester as the property market remains hot. In the last year, house prices in the region have gone up by 6 percent, with the average house selling for £230,046 in April.
With high demand for houses pushing prices up, this is great news for sellers across the region but not so much for buyers - who are also dealing with rising mortgage costs.
In some parts of the region, the average property price has gone up by nearly 10 percent. But despite the property hotspots across Greater Manchester, not everywhere in the UK has seen prices rise.
Some areas have seen substantial drops, with house prices in Kensington and Chelsea falling by 15.8 percent in April compared to 12 months earlier, which is the largest year-on-year drop of any local authority in the country.
