The 45 year old proposed to his love, Anais Niang, 30, in Norway amidst the stunning backdrop of a waterfall.The romantic proposal took place four years into their relationship.This joyous occasion comes after a period of mourning for Danny, as it's been 17 months since the loss of his bandmate Mark Sheehan at the age of 46 due to a short and private illness.
Danny and Anais' love story blossomed during the lockdown, leading him to choose the Seven Sisters waterfall in Norway, a spot he calls his 'favourite place on earth', for the proposal. "We hiked up to the top of a mountain to face the most beautiful waterfall in the world, The Seven Sisters.
It's our favourite place on earth," Danny shared with The Sun. He also recounted the lengths he went to for the perfect proposal, saying: "I nearly passed out from exhaustion carrying up all the champagne, glasses and food for if she said yes.
I had to do it all without her knowing. When you know, you know... I knew when it wasn't right, but now I know whatever that is, that it's 100 per cent right." Anais, who hails from France and works as an events manager, was residing in London when she met the Irish musician.
