Cheshire played host to one of the most prestigious social events of the year today. In what has been dubbed 'Britain's poshest wedding', the Duke of Westminster Hugh Grosvenor tied the knot with fiancee Olivia Henson at Chester Cathedral.
An aristocrat and property tycoon, he is one of Britain's richest men, owning huge swathes of Cheshire, Lancashire and Mayfair in London with an estimated £10bn.
He inherited his title and wealth aged just 25, and became the 7th Duke of Westminster, after the sudden death of his father Gerald Cavendish Grosvenor in 2016. READ MORE: LIVE: Duke of Westminster marries in 'wedding of the year' as Prince William cheers on - updates from Chester He is not a member of the royal family but the family's connections to Monarchy can also be traced back to Queen Victoria's reign when, in 1874, she bestowed the title upon Hugh Grosvenor, 3rd Marquess of Westminster, making it the most recent dukedom conferred on someone not related to royalty.
Hugh's late father was a close confidante of King Charles with the then Prince of Wales being named godfather following Hugh's birth in 1990.
