King Charles III delivered his first King's Speech since becoming the monarch following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

The King’s Speech, written by the government and read out at the State Opening of Parliament, outlined 20 bills that reveal the plans for the year ahead.

Opening his speech, King Charles referenced the impact and challenges that the Coronavirus pandemic and the war in Ukraine have had on the UK.
