Hairy Bikers' Dave Myers remembered by hundreds of motorcyclists who gather for memorial ride
ok.co.ukHundreds of motorcyclists have hit the road for a 75-mile ride in honour of late Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers. The bikers revved up their engines as a touching tribute to celebrity chef Dave, who sadly passed away in February aged 66 following a battle with cancer.
Dave's passing was announced by his heartbroken pal and co-star Si King on Instagram, where he shared that they were all "devastated" by the loss.
He continued to say that his best friend has now went on "a journey that for now, I can't follow." Biker Escorts East Yorkshire organised the memorial ride which saw hundreds of bikers depart from Beverley, East Yorkshire, on 7 April, cruising all the way to Scarborough.
Photographs from the road trip show the massive turnout, reports the Daily Star. Before the event, the organisers took to Facebook to express their amazement at the "colossal response" to the ride announcement, with a staggering 3000 people showing interest in joining to honour Dave.The beloved chef had courageously disclosed his cancer diagnosis to fans in May 2022, choosing to keep the specifics private while humorously warning that he might become the "baldy biker" during his chemo treatment.
