However, despite being a winter-time staple, bonfire night in Greater Manchester has taken a hit due to the cost of living. In recent years, many councils have announced the postponement of their events held on November 5.
But it isn't all doom and gloom, there are still plenty chances to attend take part in bonfire festivities thanks to many independent events held on the night.
Bonfire Night is celebrated every year in commemoration of the failed gunpowder plot which sought to blow up the House of Lords and King James I in 1605.
