Strictly bosses tipped to sign up Gareth Southgate after he quits as England boss
manchestereveningnews.co.ukGareth Southgate has been tipped for a stint on Strictly following his resignation. The 53-year-old former England boss announced his departure just two days after his team's devastating loss to Spain in the Euro 2024 Final on Tuesday, July 16.
Despite being contracted until December, he chose to step down after nearly eight years at the helm. Appointed as England manager in November 2016, Southgate led the Three Lions through four major tournaments, including reaching the European Championship final twice in 2020 and 2024.
However, it seems he could be trading football for the dance floor. According to Online Betting Guide (OLBG), he is currently 33/1 to swap the stands for the Strictly stage.
He is more likely to appear as a TV pundit on Sky Sports at 6/4 or Match Of The Day at 2/1. Strictly isn't due to return until September, but speculation about this year's contestants has already begun.
