Taylor Swift

Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

A touching photo has been released showing one of the young victims, Alice da Silva Aguiar, at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport just before the tragic stabbing that took her life.

Pictured beside a cardboard cutout of the pop icon Taylor Swift at Hart Space community centre on the morning of Monday 29 July, Alice's image was shared by her grieving parents, Sergio and Alexandra, as they laid their 9 year old daughter to rest today amid an outpouring of community support. The poignant picture emerged as hundreds gathered for the funeral service at St Patrick's Catholic Church in Southport, where Alice was remembered alongside two other young victims, Bebe King, aged 6, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, aged 7.The community is also healing after eight others were injured in the attack but have thankfully been discharged from hospital.

The streets of Southport were filled with mourners dressed in white and pastel shades to honour Alice, with attendees including paramedics who responded to the incident and 30 police officers in uniform, led by Merseyside Police Chief Constable Serene Kennedy.

Father John Heneghan, who presided over the service, spoke warmly of Alice as "one of our most precious children" and a "wonderfully happy girl" whose presence brought immense joy to her parents.
