Star Jesse Williams, Director Adam Bernstein on ‘Costiera’s’ Cocktail of Ingredients: ‘You Have Joyful, Spontaneous Comedy, High Stakes, Tension and Action’ (EXCLUSIVE)
variety.comLeo Barraclough International Features Editor On Monday, Fremantle will be showing buyers at Mipcom the first promo for upbeat action-drama “Costiera” in the presence of star Jesse Williams (“Only Murders in the Building,” “Your Place or Mine”) and Emmy award-winner Adam Bernstein (“30 Rock,” “Fargo”), who directed the show alongside Giacomo Martelli.
Ahead of the presentation, Variety spoke to Williams and Bernstein about the show, which will stream on Prime Video next year in Italy, France, Spain and Portugal, as well as English-speaking countries.
Fremantle will handle sales in all other territories. It is co-produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Luca Bernabei for Lux Vide, which is a Fremantle company.
The show centers on Daniel De Luca (Williams), who is a half Italian former U.S. marine who returns to Italy, the land of his childhood, as a fixer in one of the world’s most luxurious hotels, located on the spectacular coastline of Positano.
