Staff and regulars at a Wishaw bar helped raise cash in memory of a much-loved former colleague. Kay Baird was an integral part of the Corrigan’s team before her tragic death from a brain haemorrhage at the age of just 54 back in 2020.Due to lockdown restrictions, staff felt they weren’t able to say goodbye to Kay properly so decided to raise money in her memory and donate to a local good cause.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

She was like a agony aunt when she worked in here.“She was always listening to other people’s problems. She was such a well-kent face.“Kay had worked in another pub in Wishaw before coming here so some of friends would pop in here just to come in and see her.”In total, £500 was raised with the decision being taken to award the cash to Wishaw FC.The Beltane Park outfit are currently plying their trade in the West of Scotland League Third
