Stuart Kettlewell says on-form Motherwell and St Mirren will both fancy their chances on Saturday, which could set up a Viaplay Cup cracker in Paisley.Kettlewell has a lot of respect for what opposite number Stephen Robinson is doing at St Mirren Park, but says the Steelmen have their own standards to uphold, and a cup run is financially important for the club.And he expects both sides to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in to a blood and thunder cup tie.He said: “Both teams will go into this and fancy their chances, and think it’s a relatively well-matched game.“If you look at the record that’s happened – let’s say since I came in – it’s two teams that are pitching very much on a similar level, and we would love to maintain that.“They had higher league finish than us, and rightly so, given what they did over the course of the season.“We given them great respect, and I’ve said on many occasions that I have so much respect for a former manager here, Stephen Robinson.“I admire how he sets his teams up, how he comes across.

I like him as a guy. Therefore, I think it almost becomes one where both teams get their sleeves rolled up, have a really good go at a one-off cup game.”Kettlewell added: “It will be incredibly difficult.“I think it’s such a hard draw for us to go away and play St Mirren, but I think it’s two teams that are in really good form.“Their home record was exceptional, for me, last season and I think that was the very foundation of their success for large parts – as good as they were at times away as well.“We know what our goals are.

If you can find a standard which I think we’ve shown in the league for quite a sustained period of time, and try to transmit that into cup competition, who knows where it takes
