St Johnstone Women are keeping feet on the ground and remaining level-headed after their fantastic start to the season. That was the message from interim head coach Murdo Steven as Saints made it four wins from four on Sunday afternoon.A 3-2 victory against Boroughmuir Thistle at the Riverside ensured that the Perth side remained at the top of the table come full-time.With maximum points to open the new campaign, Steven says nobody is getting carried away.“The group is in a really positive place but nobody’s focus is any further than the next game,” he told the PA.“This group has been together for a good period of time now and have seen a lot together in the past 12 to 18 months.“They know the ups and downs of the game and work hard to stay level headed about it.”Alix Moodie, Jodie Ovens and Morgan Steedman netted the Saints goals at the weekend to keep the feel-good factor flowing.“I was delighted with the win,” Steven added.“Recent fixtures against Boroughmuir have been close run and Sunday was no different, so to come out on top keeps our excellent start going.“The players are enjoying what they are working very hard to get right now.”Saints are without a fixture next weekend.Steven said: “Momentum is good but we have been working really hard since pre-season so the Sunday off will give everyone the chance to do the things they enjoy away from football which will re-energise them.“We will be training as normal with some extras planned so we will be ready for the next fixture when it comes.”
