Police found two guns in a stolen car parked up in Trafford. Officers from GMP's Serious Organised Crime Firearms Investigation Team made the discovery in Stretford yesterday (Thursday).

They found the two weapons in a Citreon car that had been reported as stolen. The weapons were forensically recovered, police said, and will now be tested to see if they are linked to any previous shootings.

GMP said the force has recovered 53 guns so far this year. READ MORE:Police at scene after shots fired at house in Manchester Another 150 guns were handed in during a three-week campaign in May. "Our work relies on knowledge that we receive from our communities and anyone with concerns or information should pass to us in confidence knowing that we will take action on any viable leads.
