Sir Keir Starmer urged to make 'u-turn' as winter fuel allowance update issued

A trade unionist has urged the Prime Minster to make a "U-turn" on the government's plans to cut the winter fuel allowance. Unite general secretary, Sharon Graham, described plans for the cut as 'completely wrong' and has called on Sir Kier Starmer to tax the "1% wealthiest" in Britain instead.

Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, she said: “We need to make sure that he is making the right choices and leadership is about choices.
