dailyrecord.co.ukA HIGH-PROFILE criminal lawyer has been charged by police after he was allegedly caught with cocaine in Scotland’s High Court.The 46-year-old is accused of being in possession of the class A drug at the High Court of Glasgow on July 31.Court staff claim the drugs were found during a security check when the lawyer entered the court building last month to represent a client.The matter was then brought to the attention of police.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 46-year-old man was charged in connection with drugs offences at the High Court in Glasgow on Wednesday, 31 July.
A report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”The man, who comes from a well- known legal family, has appeared in criminal trials across Scotland and also specialises in road traffic cases.It is understood he is able to continue to practise and represent clients while the charges against him are being considered by prosecutors.The High Court of Justiciary hears the country’s most serious cases, including all cases of rape and murder.
