Firefighters battled for more than 13 hours to contain a blaze at an industrial estate in Fife.In all, six fire engines were sent from across the Kingdom to battle the fire at Frances Industrial Estate on Wemyss Road in Dysart, near Kirkcaldy.
A water bowser – a giant mobile water tank – was also sent to the scene to provide additional support, along with a height appliance and a major incident command vehicle.Efforts to extinguish the fire were so intensive that Scottish Water had to issue an alert to locals, warning them of low pressure and discoloured water while firefighters were connected to nearby fire hydrants.
After arriving on scene at around 3.30pm, fire officers remained on site until 4.30am.Despite the scale of the fire, no injuries have been reported.
Images provided to the Record show huge plumes of smoke erupting into the sky from the estate. However, at least one business has been destroyed as a result of the blaze.
