A broken down train has led to travel chaos at sub zero temperatures for Ayrshire commuters.A service believed to be heading from Ayr to Glasgow was forced to stop between Howwood and Miliken Park in Renfrewshire.It is understood that passengers were stranded on the train bound for Glasgow Central for more than three hours.The latest update from a ScotRail Advisor on Twitter told how passengers were being evacuated from the stationery train.It is believed another train has also broken down on the line with a ScotRail Advisor on Twitter telling a passenger that a few trains were 'trapped' on the line.All Ayrshire services on the West Coast line including those to Largs have all been axed until 4pm today.ScotRail bosses have took the decision as passengers were left out in the cold with temperatures plummeting to -6 degrees.Some furious passengers have told of chaos at Barassie station where dozens were left standing in the freezing conditions waiting for a train that never arrived.Travel chiefs are scrambling to arrange a replacement bus service from Kilwinning, Ayr and Glasgow Central but have been unable to confirm.ScotRail have been contacted for comment.Don't miss the latest Ayrshire headlines –sign up to our free daily newsletter here
