Fans adored her relationship with eventual husband Curly after they met at Bettabuy, with her going on to work behind the bar in the Rovers.
She walked out on Curly to take an aromatherapy job in Kuala Lumpur, making a brief return in 2000 to ask for a divorce. Sarah went on to become an award-winning actress and won legions of fans for her role as Sergeant Catherine Cawood in Happy Valley.
