Ruben Amorim has seemingly already given his verdict on a previous Manchester United managerial appointment. The Manchester Evening News understands that Amorim has agreed to become the new United manager following the departure of Erik ten Hag.
Amorim has been in charge of Sporting Lisbon since 2020 and is reported to have a €10million (£8.3million) release clause in his contract.
News emerged on Tuesday that Sporting had confirmed United's intention to meet the release clause for Amorim, formally beginning the process of appointing the 39-year-old as their new manager.
Amorim guided Sporting to the league title in Portugal last season for the first time in 19 years.
