Ronan Keating carries older brother Ciaran's coffin and gives heartbreaking tribute at funeral

Boyzone star Ronan Keating was among the pallbearers who carried the coffin of his older brother Ciaran to St Patrick’s Church in Louisburgh, Co Mayo for his funeral mass following his death in a car crash at the weekend.

Ciaran's wife Ann marie was also injured in the collision. He attended the heartbreaking ceremony alongside family and friends including sister Linda and his two brothers Gerard and Gary.Members of Cork City FC, which Ciaran’s son Ruairi plays for, as well as representatives of the Marie Keating Foundation cancer charity, were also among the mourners.Ronan was expected to sing towards the end of the ceremony as he performed a heartfelt musical tribute to his brother Ciaran at his funeral mass.He sang This Is Your Song towards the end of an emotional service.

Lyrics included: “You were our friend, walk with you till the end, and one day we’ll all sing along, ’cause this is your song.”The former Boyzone singer said the song was written after their mother, Marie, died in 1998. “I shouldn’t be singing it in these circumstances but we are and we will,” he said, adding that Ciaran’s children had made their dad “very proud”.He told mourners: "Ciaran and Ann Marie have done a spectacular job - three incredible human beings.

You strength over the past few days has been incredible and you've done your dad very proud."Ciaran helped to set up the Marie Keating Foundation after the death of their mother from breast cancer in 1998.Ciaran's wife Ann Marie was taken to hospital to receive treatment for non-life threatening injuries while the male driver of the second vehicle is understood to be receiving treatment for serious injuries in hospital.
