The actress has been playing Nichelle Carmichael since season three and she was promoted to series regular in season six. Unfortunately, Deadline reports that she “was not invited back as a series regular but the producers want to keep her in the S.W.A.T.
universe.” Rochelle is expected to return in a recurring capacity for the upcoming eighth season. But, don’t worry, CBS is keeping her on the network in a brand new series! Deadline reports that Rochelle “will play Dr. Mary Morstan, one of the best surgeons on the East Coast, and the Medical Director of the hospital.
