Resident vows to 'stay put' and says he'll 'need to be dragged' from Lanarkshire 'ghost town' home

The last remaining resident in a condemned Wishaw housing estate says “they will need to drag” him from his home after councillors agreed the go-ahead for a compulsory purchase orderLanarkshire Live revealed back in August that Nick Wisniewski was the only resident still living in flats earmarked for demolition in the Gowkthrapple estate.

He told Lanarkshire Live : “I’ve heard nothing from the council at all since last November. It’s been a year since I spoke to them. “I thought with all the publicity surrounding this, it would prompt them into doing something and come back to me, but not a thing."Not a word from them.“That’s fair enough, but I’m going to sit in as I have nothing else to lose now.
