A report has highlighted recent work by North Lanarkshire Council in support of unpaid carers in the area. Councillors have approved a new three-year strategy covering its approach to unpaid carers, with a report on the document stating that local carers are receiving levels of support which are consistently better than the national average.A hospital discharge payment scheme entitled carers to one-off payments of £1000 to support them during the first six weeks of their loved one leaving hospital and so far this has helped 90 people.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
